Funded projects

The project ”Every STEP counts!” was funded by MOL Romania and Foundation for Community within the MOL Program for Children's Health.

Through this project, the need for collaboration between all educational actors is promoted, by opening special education specialists, with skills in combined arts therapies (Music therapy, Kadans-Dance therapy and Moving stories Method) to mainstream education teachers, offering them the basis of knowing some tools for working with integrated SEN children, which facilitates and eases the instructive-remedial approach and the integration process.

The applicant of the project is SEN Association and the beneficiaries are 114 children with special educational needs from 3 special schools: CSEI No. 1 Oradea, CSEI ”Bonitas” Oradea, CSEI ”Cristal” Oradea and 5 kindergarten: GPP No. 30 Oradea, GPP No. 34 Oradea, GPP No. 50 Oradea and GPP No. 52 Oradea, aged between 3-18 years.
Dance therapy and Music therapy are familiar methods for teachers from special education system, used as therapeutic interventions for children with disabilities while Moving stories Method is a newly learned method, as a result of the participation of 4 teachers from CSEI No. 1 and 2 teachers from CSEI ”Cristal” to the Erasmus+ project KA220 ”Teach me to help!”.

Also, a significant activity in the project is the development of a brochure with theoretical information, models, examples of practical activities about the three artistic mediation therapeutical methods, but also the presentation of Moving stories Method.
„Teach me to help!” with the acronym T2H is an Erasmus+ KA220-SCH-Cooperation partnership în school education, run under ref. no: 2021-1-RO01-KA220-SCH-000034497.
The partnership was implemented during January 2022 - December 2023 by 8 European organizations from 7 countries: 2 professional associations; 2 county school inspectorates/directorates, 3 schools and a private university:

Project goal was to work on educational triangle: SEN/SLD learners professionals-parents in order to support these students development and inclusion by sharing the experience and good practices, exchanging trainers and trainees.
In order to achieve these the set objectives were:
- To equip 82 international participants from 8 European countries with knowledge and tools as trainers for inclusive mainstream and special school specialist and parents of SEN pupils in 3 different methods;
- To increase professional level of 480 teachers/specialist working with SEN/SLD pupils from partner countries by participating to project local trainings/seminars/workshops an e-learning platform on 3 different topics related with SEN/SLD pupils development and school integration;
- To support informational and emotional development of minimum 240 parents of SEN pupils through seminars and support groups by offering them information's about potential solutions to their children diagnosis, psychological support and the opportunity of sharing their worries and accomplishments in a safe environment;
- To enhance SEN/SLD pupils rehabilitation and inclusion by providing professionals, parents and institutions the opportunity of interact at local and international level through networks and different kind of on-line and face to face events.
The target group of the project can be split as follows:
1. Project team - 5 to 9 specialist from partner institutions. They will be involved in all project phases under management packages. They will participating together with the coordinator to TPM (Transnational Project Meeting): April 2022 – Fornos de Algodres, Portugal; October 2022 – Igoumenitza, Greece; April 2023 – Istanbul, Turkey; October 2023 – Oradea, Romania.
2. LTTa (Learning Teaching Training activities) participants – 9 to12 specialist from each partner organization, meaning 3-4 participants from each partner country to each LTTa: May 2022 - Oradea, Romania; September 2022 – Ruse, Bulgaria; November 2022 – Lodz, Poland. The participating specialists, that can be similar or different by project team, will be trainees during the 3 international trainings activity and become trainers during local events they will multiply. They will be involved in leading all phases of follow up activities after international trainings activities: the fourth guides adaptation and translation, local trainings for teachers, workshops for parents, video lessons recording, open lesson observations, support groups.
3. Teachers/specialist participating to local trainings – a minimum no. of 60 trainees from each partners local professional community will be welcomed to participate to the 3 local trainings:
- Emotional development through art therapy;
- Supporting pupils with SLD (Dyslexia, ADHD, etc.) in the classroom
- Sensory integration and Moving story method
4. Parents participating to local workshop/seminars - a minimum no. of 30 parents of SEN/SLD pupils will have the opportunity to participate to 3 local workshop/seminars held by each partner institution for presenting different working methods.
Each partner will benefit by the support of some silent partners, that can be: schools, county school inspectorates, universities, research centers, training centers or organizations, professional or parents association, who will help project partner to identify specialists and families in need and carry out activities.

All project actions will emerge into project results or intellectual outputs of the project. This will be:

Output 1: A set of Methodological Guides – 3 guides for teachers and SEN/SLD staff, and one – with practical tips for parents. Each of the Guides will cover a specific topic, providing theoretical knowledge and practical advises under the umbrella “Alternative approaches for supporting SEN/SLD pupils’ rehabilitation and inclusion”:
Guide 1: Emotional development through art therapy - developed by Romanian SEN Association with the support of Turkish school partner
Guide 2: Supporting pupils with SLD (Dyslexia, ADHD, etc.) in the classroom - developed by Bulgarian Dyslexia association with the support of Portuguese school partner
Guide 3: Sensory integration and Moving story method - developed by Polish  University with the support of Greek School Directorate
Guide 4: Practical Tips for Parents - developed by Turkish School Directorate with the support of Italian school partner
All Guides are available in all partner languages and in English, in downloadable format via project website and FB page, partners’ websites/FB pages.The Guides are supported by a set of Video Lessons - short (3-5 minutes) instructional videos, presenting separate elements of the proposed in the Guides techniques, to be used as a supporting/illustrative material during the Joint staff trainings (LTTAs), during the local seminars/workshops for teachers and parents. Video lessons will be equipped with subtitles in English and partner languages and will be uploaded on T2H YouTube channel.

Output 2: E-Learning Module – was developed based on the Guides and Video Lessons. Over 350 participants registrated to this pilot course, available during Decembre 2023 via Moodle platform in all partner languages.
All project results were presented to professional communities during project dissemination conferences, organized in each partner country. To final activity in România: Erasmus+ International Dissemination and Valorization Conference, organized at Oradea By SEN Asociation, partnership coordinator during Octombre 2023 representatives of all partners were present joining the partners of a differnt erasmus+ project. The project „Behind the mask it’s ME!” was funded by MOL Romania and Foundation for Community within the MOL Program for Children's Health from January to December 2020, with a budget of 25000 RON. The project aimed to develop the socio-emotional skills of 21 children with SEN (Special Educational Needs) from CSEI No. 1 Oradea and „Episcop Roman Ciorogariu” Orthodox High School in Oradea through activities organized and carried out in theater workshops and puppet making, mask, and costume workshops.
The Erasmus+ Strategic Partnership, KA2 „DysTRANS - Supporting Dyslexic Individuals in Transition from Primary to Lower Secondary School”, was implemented by SEN Association in partnership with organizations and institutions from Turkey, Italy, Portugal, Bulgaria and Poland, coordinated by Istanbul Il Milli Egitim Mudurlugu (Istanbul Directorate of National Education) and local partners, such us: Bihor County School Inspectorate; Bihor County Resource and Educational Assistance Center, Faculty of Social Sciences from Oradea Univeristy and School Centre of Inclusive Education No. 1 Oradea. The project aimed to develop and test tools to facilitate the transition of students with learning disabilities (dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia) from primary to lower secondary school, through several stages, which were constituted under the final products of the project.
During the first stage a Needs Analysis regarding the difficulties faced by students with SLD (Specific Learning Disorders) at the beginning of lower secondary education, was conducted, involving Romania with information collected from 4 schools in Oradea: „Octavian Goga” Secondary School, Oradea; „Szacsvay Imre” Secondary School, Oradea; „Iuliu Maniu” Greek-Catholic High School, Oradea; „Roman Ciorogariu” Orthodox High School, Oradea, along with international partners. During the second stage, an intervention kit was developed and piloted to support transition, containing working tools, a guide for parents, and a guide for teachers.
The project „Summer School - Art, Sensation and Movement” was funded by the Development and Project Implementation Directorate, under the authority of Bihor County Council, with a budget of 8000 RON. The project aimed to develop emotional reactions and appropriate behaviors in different life situations for children with special educational needs, in order to facilitate their social integration. The beneficiaries were students with SEN from CSEI No. 1 Oradea. The main activities that led to the achievement of the project's final goal were the SUMMER SCHOOL program, included also in an educational project approved by the County School Inspectorate „Playing...we play”; the thematic trip to Bic Monastery in Salaj County, which took place during 22-23 of July 2017; the Cultural Festival „Autumn's Riches” in October 2017 and the Special Olympics Regional Basketball Competition in November 2017, both included in CAERI 2017.
The project „E-CO-Children with Special Educational Needs!” (ECO_CES) funded by MOL Romania and Foundation for Partnership under the Green Spaces Program, took place from April to August 2014. The project aimed to reorganize the park of CSEI No.1 as a sensory garden in order to conduct multisensory and psychomotor stimulation activities for students with intellectual and sensory disabilities, following environmental education actions. A team of 45 students and 12 teachers constituted the project team, joined by 111 students and 133 teachers and young volunteers from local community who contributed to achieving the project's objectives. The total costs of the sensory garden was approximately 16500 RON of which 9000 RON were obtained through the funding contract, 2200 RON were donated in the form of materials necessary for completing the works by various sponsors, and the remaining difference of approximately 5300 RON was co-financed by SEN „Special Olympics” „Special Olympics” Association.
he project „Through You(th) SEN World gets larger!” funded by the European Commission through the Youth in Action, European Voluntary Service in partnership with School Centre of Inclusive Education No. 1 Oradea as host organisation and International Centre for Intercultural Research, Learning and Dialogue, Armenia, and Asociación Jóvenes Solidarios, Spain as sending organisations, took place from January to October 2013. Three European youth volunteers benefited from a 6-month learning stage, offering their services to children and young people with disabilities from institutions and organizations in Oradea. The total value of the project was 16457 Euro.
The project „Show me how special you are (SEN Art)” was our first project funded by by MOL Romania and Foundation for Community within the MOL Program for Children's Health, implemented from January to August 2013 in collaboration with School Centre of Inclusive Education No. 1 Oradea, „Gavril Curteanu” Neuropsychiatry Hospital Oradea, „Mihai Eminescu” National College Oradea, „Szacsvay Imre” Secondary School Oradea and Individual Psychological Cabinet „Kiss&Kiss„. The project aimed to implement art therapy programs such as: music therapy, dance therapy, experiential theater method, art therapy, drama therapy, therapeutic stories for 47 children with special educational needs (SEN) and other chronic illnesses, to achieve their psychopedagogical recovery and/or harmonious personality development.
